Falafel is a small fried patty or ball made from ground garbanzo beans, flavoured with garlic, onion, and spices. This traditional food from the Middle East is now gaining great popularity in many countries due to the rise in vegan or vegetarian consumers.
It is generally served with pita bread, either inside the pita which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flat pita. Our Falafel mix can also be used to make vegetarian alternatives to hamburgers, meatballs, meatloaf and more!
Ingredients: garbanzo beans, garlic, salt, onion, coriander, black pepper, cumin, curry powder, parsley.
Directions: Mix 3/4 cup of water with 1 cup of falafel mix. Add up to a 1/4 cup more water if needed. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Pour at least 1 inch of vegetable oil into a frying pan. Form mixture into small balls or patties, and fry until brown and crisp.
