Organic Split Red Lentils
Organic split red lentils are a versatile and quick-cooking legume, prized for their vibrant colour and mild, nutty flavour.
To cook them, rinse the lentils and combine with water or broth in a pot, using a 1:2 ratio of lentils to liquid. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes until soft and creamy.
These lentils are ideal for thickening soups, stews, and curries, or for making dal, a traditional Indian lentil dish flavoured with spices and served over rice or with flatbread. They can also be used to make veggie burgers, spreads, or even added to baked goods for a boost of protein and fibre.
